Before I went vegan, I used to love a hot chocolate. Usually on a cold, Winters night, I’d love to be wrapped up in front of the fire, wind howling outside, under a blanket with a steaming hot cup of hot chocolate to keep me company. It used to be so easy to make, just heat up some milk and add to the cocoa powder, or sometimes just with boiling water – dead easy. Well, no one said that being vegan was always going to be easy, so this vegan hot chocolate recipe is not as straightforward as that – but then again, it is by no means difficult.
You just have to use non dairy milk (obviously!) and normal cocoa powder (as drinking chocolate will no doubt have powdered milk in it. Add some sugar, pinch of salt, vanilla extract, and if you’re feeling extravagant – some vegan whipped cream! As always, full details can be found in the link below.
