This rice recipe is a dead easy way to spice (pardon the pun) up plain rice and make it super tasty. If you only have plain or basmati rice in the cupboard, and you fancied something with a bit more flavor, then you could try your hand at this Turmeric Coconut Rice recipe. Turmeric supposedly also has anti inflammatory properties, so if you suffer from arthritis or similar ailments or injuries, then this may help you out.
This recipe is very simple, you just need six ingredients (three of which are the rice itself, water and salt), so basically you just need to make sure that you have some turmeric and coconut cream.
Turmeric Coconut Rice Ingredients
- 1 cup of white or brown basmati rice
- 1.5 cups water (2 cups for brown rice)
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/4 cup coconut cream (the thick cream at the top of a can of coconut milk)
- A handful of finely chopped coriander, to serve (optional)
