Now, not many things in life go together like raisins and cinnamon – it’s a great combination and one that you would also associate with apples. However, this recipe brings banana bread to the party – anyone who’s been visiting this site for long will know that I am banana bread bonkers, so whenever I find a new recipe with a bit of a twist on the traditional recipes, then I just have to try them out. Luckily, this recipe for Cinnamon Raisin Banana Bread is one of the good ones, and that’s why I’m sharing it with you today.
This banana bread goes perfect with a cup of coffee or tea for a late morning snack, or if you need something to get you through to your evening meal. There’s nothing stopping you treating it like a dessert either. Just 10 minutes of preparation time, so nothing too crazy there – and then in 40 minutes, you’ll have your banana bread (although my oven took more like 50 minutes, but then my oven always does seem to take longer than everyone else!).
An added bonus of this recipe is that because it contains lots of naturally sweet ingredients like bananas, almonds and raisins, then there is no need for any added sugar, which helps keep it on the healthier side of the banana bread scale. I’m not necessarily saying that this is healthy, but it’s not as bad for you as a slice of cake would be!
