I remember when I first went vegan several years ago now that I used to go through in my head what I could and couldn’t eat – I definitely remember Googling ‘are donuts vegan?’ when I was almost 100% sure I knew the answer already! I then Googled ‘dunkin donuts vegan’ and got the same result. Boo! Anyway, years went by and I didn’t really miss them, but then I stumbled upon this great recipe for vegan chocolate donuts.
These donuts are oil free, gluten free and, of course, vegan. I didn’t have a clue how to make donuts, and so I had to buy a special donut tin which really helped – I don’t know how you do the hole otherwise! These only need around 25 minutes of prep, so not too bad, and they take 20 minutes in the oven, but ideally you need to let them cool before you glaze them otherwise the glaze will just melt and slide off. You will need to show some restraint!
